Job Description
The phlebotomist will be responsible for performing venipuncture procedures primarily using straight needles at a doctor's office. This role involves representing the organization on-site and ensuring the accurate collection and handling of specimens.
ResponsibilitiesTravel to client assignments within a designated region on short notice.Greet customers appropriately and treat all customers in a courteous manner.Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.Collect specimens according to established procedures and explain the process of venipuncture or other specimen collections clearly and courteously.Dispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.Dispose of contaminated sharps in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into the computer.Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify tests ordered, and obtain accurate billing information.Package specimens for transport, store specimen samples according to required temperature, and follow procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimen.Essential SkillsProficiency with straight needle sticksPhlebotomy certificationVenipuncture skillsValid driver's license and access to reliable transportation2+ years of experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School DiplomaWork Environment
The phlebotomist will perform services at doctor's offices, assisting a wide range of patients. The position is first shift, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.00/hr.
