Job Description
Join a dynamic and busy office in the Somerset region, where you will be part of a team of phlebotomists handling a high volume of patients daily. This role offers the opportunity to work in one of the most reputable pediatric blood draw offices.
ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data and decontamination.Update patient information and collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately.Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.Essential SkillsStrong phlebotomy skills and excellent customer service.Pediatric experience is essential due to high volume of pediatric patients.Minimum of 2 years of experience in phlebotomy.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in handling over 200 patients per day.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be on your feet for most of the day.Training provided for processing and centrifuging specimens.Work Environment
The role involves working in a fast-paced setting, primarily focused on blood draws. The shift hours are from 6:30am to 3:00pm, with every third Saturday from 7:00am to 11:00am. The environment requires mobility and is centered around patient interaction, with no front desk duties involved.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.40 - $20.65/hr.
