Phlebotomist

Follows all standard precautions and infection control policies and procedures. Acknowledges patients using appropriate customer service techniques. Must remain in full time status for six months. **EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:** High school diploma or equivalent. CPR certification preferred. Familiarity with science courses and/or previous phlebotomy experience preferred. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. **SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:** Good communication skills and manual dexterity. **WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:** Clinical setting – Exposure Class I – Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. Exposure to biological and chemical hazards, latex, sharps, and ergonomic hazards. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** Medium work: Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently; occasionally lifting a maximum of 50 pounds. Will require the ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach, lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds. **WORK CONTACT GROUP:** All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, various regulatory and professional agencies. **SUPERVISED BY:** Manager/Coordinator **SUPERVISES:** N/A **CAREER PATH:** Unspecified Pay Range: $17.85 - $25.90 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
