Phlebotomist I (3rd Shift)Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our team on the 3rd shift in a hospital environment. This role involves collecting and storing specimens in accordance with established procedures, ensuring accuracy in specimen labeling and processing, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws, label and centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data. + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the process of venipuncture and specimen collection clearly and courteously. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. + Check all test requisitions or computer labels to ensure 100% accuracy. + Package specimens for transport, ensuring correct temperature and integrity. + Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Essential Skills + Phlebotomy and venipuncture experience. + Specimen collection and processing expertise. + Customer service proficiency. + Experience working with geriatric and hard stick patients. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. + Minimum 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. + High School Diploma or GED. + 0-2 years of relevant experience. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
