CVP is seeking certified Phlebotomists to provide services at VA Northern California Health Care System facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to serve our Nation's Veterans in a professional healthcare setting.
Location: Modesto VA Outpatient Clinic, 1225 Oakdale Rd, Modesto, CA 95355
Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
Pay Rate: $23.56/hour.
Responsibilities Verify patient identity by confirming two patient identifiers (patient name, date of birth and/or social security number) prior to accepting or collecting specimensPerform venipuncture by following published Laboratory proceduresCollect adequate and properly labeled specimensProperly determine current clinician orders in the computer, per Laboratory proceduresPerform waived and/or non-waived testingProcess specimens for testing and/or shipment to another laboratory for testingMake contacts with patients, relatives, staff members, and coworkers in a concerned, compassionate, and helpful mannerPromote a harmonious and cooperative working environment in interactions with co-workers and supervisorsFollow all applicable VA and Joint Commission or College of American Pathologists standardsMaintain privacy and confidentiality for patients, families, medical records, and electronic informationComply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, VHA policies, procedures, and instructions Qualifications Current certification in the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy TechnicianMinimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital settingCurrent tuberculosis testing, rubella testing, and required immunizationsKnowledge of medical terminology, hospital terminology and/or clinicsComputer literacy and ability to use computers and technology efficiently
