Job Description

This position is responsible for leading all national philanthropic efforts for U.S. Bank. As the senior thought leader, acts as the face and voice of the bank in providing guidance and expertise in designing and implementing a wide variety of philanthropic strategies and is viewed as a national expert in the industry. Leads a team of Philanthropic Services professionals by providing guidance, direction and assistance across the Wealth Management and Securities Services and Consumer organizations. Philanthropic deliverables span individuals, families with private foundations, planned giving services and donor advised funds. Demonstrates passion and engagement for philanthropy, comfortable in national forums and speaking engagements, and in writing strategy papers and insights on private and public charitable issues and topics.  Works with senior leaders to deliver a Charitable strategic plan that includes a disciplined sales process, national marketing programs and ongoing internal training that results in annualized double digit AUM growth.  Defines Client Experience standards by segment and creates content to allow client experience standards to be fulfilled.  Assists with the creation of charitable marketing and sales materials to be used by client facing professionals.  Coordinates RFP process and deliverables for private foundations.  Coordinates and trains Charitable Champions in each market on the Philanthropic Services business.

 

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experienceEight or more years of philanthropic services experience

Thorough knowledge of the charitable landscape and all laws pertaining to charitable strategies and tax planning optionsAbility to partner with colleagues to brand and deliver unique perspective on charitable solutionsDemonstrated leadership and communication skillsAbility to lead and facilitate collaborative partnerships across business linesStrong product and project management capabilitiesWell-developed analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skillsExcellent writing, speaking, and presentation skillsConsiderable tact, diplomacy and people skillsSeven or more years of management experienceBA/MBA in finance, accounting, or other related field, or equivalent work experience10 or more years of philanthropic services experience
