This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500

At Cleveland Clinic, you will find your position as a Regulatory Pharmacy Technician differs significantly from similar roles at other facilities. Here, you play an essential role in keeping patients safe and comfortable throughout their experience. In this position, you will assist leadership, serving as a liaison between the Ambulatory care areas, Department of Pharmaceutical Services and applicable regulatory agencies to ensure accurate, compliant and successful practice. This work is critical to our mission to become the best place to receive healthcare. All the while, you will grow in your skills within a supportive, encouraging caregiver family.

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Ensure legislative, regulatory, rule, accreditation and CC policy and procedural consistency with respect to medication use in the ambulatory patient care setting. 

Monitor and evaluate the completion of monthly inspections conducted by the site manager. 

Interact with state, federal and non-governmental regulatory agencies on various medication use issues. 

Develop and modify policies and procedures for approval by department leadership. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

High School Diploma or GED   

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) 

Active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with agreement of updating registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire 

At least two years of Pharmacy Technician experience in an inpatient hospital environment or equivalent environment 

Willingness to travel at least three days per week between various Cleveland Clinic locations.

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

While walking, stooping, bending and reaching; ability to transport 240 lb. cart.
