As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support pharmacists in providing pharmacy services while preparing sterile compounds for the oncology department, controlling inventory, ordering supplies and medications, and adhering to organizational guidelines.
**Caregivers in this role will work days from 8:00am to 4:30pm, which may vary an hour or 2. This is a floating position, and caregivers will be expected to float between all 5 Florida Hospitals with a majority occurring at our West Palm Beach facility.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
+ Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations accurately and timely.
+ Maintain accurate and appropriate inventory of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
+ Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
+ Communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner. This includes participating in team huddles and assisting with caregiver and student training.
+ Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High school diploma or GED
+ CPhT through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required within 18 months
+ Licensed in Florida as a registered pharmacy technician.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred at time of hire.
+ 6 months of hospital experience
