Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient PRN

As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will support pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. The technician is responsible for packaging, preparation and distribution of medications, inventory control, submit tickets with the Emergency Department, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. You will make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers. **This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working various day/evening/night/weekend shifts between 12:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. + Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. + Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections. + Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training. + Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks. + Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED + Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician + Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) upon or within 18 months of hire + Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds + Basic computer skills Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program + Six months of hospital experience + Familiarity with Pyxis or BD logistics systems + Leadership experience such as prior stretch assignments or informal leadership + Possess three years of experience in pharmacy practice Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
