**This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus ranging from $1,250 to $2,500.

Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Pharmacy serves the diverse needs of more than 400,000 patients through its ambulatory pharmacies each year, consistently earning over 90% patient satisfaction while making a strong positive financial impact. A caregiver in this role will perform outpatient pharmacy technician duties, including counting medications, operating the register, and managing inventory—without working on Pyxis machines. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn pharmacy operations across multiple locations and potentially cross-train in the inpatient pharmacy, making it a great choice for someone eager to grow their skills and advance in the field.

This is a PRN position. A caregiver in this role will work from 9:30am to 6:00pm for at least 20 hours per week, with floating between Martin North and Tradition Hospitals as needed. There are no weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.  Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.  Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.  Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.  Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.  Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.  Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High school diploma or GEDLicensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). This will be required within 18 months of hire Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program  Six months of hospital experience

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times.Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job.Ability to lift up to 2pounds while walking, stooping, bending and reaching.
