Under both direct and indirect supervision, the Pharmacy Technician is primarily responsible for patient communication to discuss therapy progress, physician follow-up, medication profile updates, and obtaining inventory from patients to ensure proper refill of orders. The technician will assist the pharmacist in obtaining laboratory values for review.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain team schedule for patient follow-up, refill assessments, and deliveries.Participate in team huddles each morning to prioritize and coordinate the processing, compounding, and delivery of supplies and orders.Communicate with patients to review inventory for proper refill of existing orders and anticipate patient care or supply needs.Report identified non-compliance, process orders, and print labels and packing lists in a timely manner.Ensure timely and appropriate documentation in progress notes.Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and clinicians involved in patient care.Discuss patient progress, document in progress notes, and forward concerns and clinical questions to the team pharmacist.Communicate with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure patient needs are met for adequate supplies and timely deliveries.Update patient medication profiles in EMR and present them to the team pharmacist for review.Follow up with physician's office as appropriate within the scope of practice.Notify the Reimbursement team of patient hospitalizations, changes in prescriptions, and changes in patient status.Assist pharmacists in obtaining laboratory values and forward them to the ordering physician.Enter lab values in EMR as appropriate.Provide delivery representatives with patient pick-up forms and assist with scheduling pick-ups of equipment and medical waste.Perform all other duties assigned by the respective Supervisor or Manager.Maintain complete understanding of confidentiality regarding proprietary information and patient/client care, complying with all federal and state laws related to confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic PHI, and following HIPAA guidelines.

Work Environment
This is a closed-door pharmacy setting with a focus on home infusion. The work schedule is from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, allowing for an 8-hour shift starting between 8:30 am to 9:30 am. The role offers room for growth and advancement in a non-patient facing environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
