Assists the Staff Pharmacists in providing professional Pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Technician will
be able to perform in any functional area of the Department to provide accurate and efficient dispensing
of medications. Level I technician will have expectation of becoming National Certified with a Nationally
Accredited Certification Board and must learn sterile compounding techniques

Special Training: Level I technician will have expectation of becoming National Certified with a Nationally
Accredited Certification Board and must learn sterile compounding techniques.
Licensures/Registration: Registration with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation within 60 days
of employment as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee. A trainee must become
Nationally certified prior to Illinois pharmacy tech license renewal that occurs following two years
of licensure. Annual pharmacy tech license renewal occurs by March 31st each year.
Experience: No experience required.
InterpersonalSkills: Interaction is with a variety of people. These may be fellow employees, customers, the public or
others outside the organization. Communications are of limited difficulty. Interactions usually
involve short, straightforward exchanges of information. The job requires a limited amount of
interpersonal skills. Interactions are non-stressful encounters and dealing with uncomplicated
problem situations.
Working Condition: There is limited exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Some undesirable or unpleasant
environmental characteristics may occur but the physical environment is generally safe and there
is minimal health risk. No safety equipment or unusual precautions are required. The occasional
exposure to these minor adverse conditions would be limited to 35% or less of the work day
