As a Pharmacy Technician at VCA West Los Angeles, you will play an important role in supporting our pharmacy operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent service for our patients and clients. You’ll work closely with our doctors, nursing teams, and hospital leadership to help deliver outstanding patient care.
Pay Range: $20.00–$25.00 per hour
Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, credentials, and skill set.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily pharmacy operations including prescription fulfillment, workflow management, and client communications
Monitor and respond to voicemail, email, eFaxes, Vetsource, and internal prescription platforms
Manage medication inventory, restocking, ordering, and removing expired products
Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
Handle controlled substances in compliance with DEA and state regulations
Provide medication consultations to clients over the phone and in person
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and hospital staff to support patient care
Follow and uphold pharmacy SOPs, compliance practices, and quality control standards
Participate in onboarding, training, and continuing education opportunities
Promote a culture of teamwork, communication, and service excellence
Perform other duties as assigned to support hospital operations
Qualifications
Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) preferred or equivalent certification/experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary or human pharmacy setting
Strong understanding of veterinary pharmaceuticals and pharmacy operations
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems
