Job Description
MedPharma is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will primarily support Medicare and Medicaid patients by managing the intake and processing of prior authorizations. Responsibilities include entering prior authorization requests into our system and coordinating with review technicians. Training opportunities are available for those interested in expanding their responsibilities to include review-related tasks..
ResponsibilitiesAccurately create and process prior authorization requests in the system.Collaborate with review technicians to ensure timely and complete processing.Manage intake of prior authorizations, primarily for Medicare and Medicaid patients.Maintain accurate records and documentation for all prior authorization activities.Participate in training opportunities to expand into review-related responsibilities.Ensure compliance with internal procedures and healthcare regulations during processing.Essential SkillsExperience in managed care and pharmacy operations.Strong proficiency in data entry and general computer applications.Excellent phone-based customer service and communication skills.Ability to work independently in a remote environment.Prior experience handling and processing prior authorizations.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.Proven ability to handle calls and manage conversations effectively.Work Environment
This is a fully remote position that requires working in a private, distraction-free environment to maintain HIPAA compliance. A reliable high-speed internet connection is essential. The role includes rotating holiday coverage with team members, and lunch breaks may vary between 30 minutes and one hour. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
