Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to work in the inpatient pharmacy at the main hospital in Lawrenceville. The Pharmacy Technician helps prepare, fill, and distribute medications, both sterile and nonsterile. Their work follows regulations from the Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and the State Board of Pharmacy.

Title and rate of pay will be determined based on education and experience.

Responsibilities:

Assist with labeling, counting, and stocking medications. Prepare oral and injectable medications, including IV admixtures and TPN, using proper techniques. Work in the Sterile Product area to prepare hazardous drugs like chemotherapy. Distribute medications, including cassettes, emergency carts, and controlled substances. Retrieve and return discontinued medications. Help with the procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution of investigational drugs. Maintain inventory levels and update automated medication systems. Assist in training pharmacy personnel and students.
