Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician will handle all areas of the pharmacy to provide coverage as needed and will be cross-trained to ensure familiarity with all departments. This role is crucial in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of pharmacy operations.
ResponsibilitiesPerform data entry using short codes and ensure accuracy in prescription details, verifying package and stock sizes for medications.Identify and correct mistakes in prescriptions, liaising with appropriate parties for clarification.Work as part of the quality team to verify all prescription details before scheduling, packaging, and dispatching drugs.Manage indexing by sorting and attaching faxes to the correct patient profiles, ensuring accurate typing into patient charts.Execute the Physician Call Back role by reaching out to offices and physicians to obtain or clarify prescription information, ensuring vital medications are accurately processed.Provide patients with updates regarding their new scripts or prescription refills.Essential SkillsMichigan Pharmacy Technician License / Certification2-3 years of pharmacy experienceProficiency in computer skillsStrong customer service skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Script MedExperience with free drug programsHigh volume prescription processing experienceWork Environment
The work environment is a Specialty Pharmacy setting with first shift hours from Monday to Friday, including one shift from 8:30am to 5pm and another from 9:30am to 6pm. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
