Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician Lead supports daily pharmacy operations by overseeing the work of pharmacy technicians, ensuring accurate medication preparation and dispensing, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role collaborates closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflows and high-quality pharmaceutical care. The Lead serves as a key resource for training, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within the department.
Essential Functions
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in a hospital or health system pharmacy requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, medication safety, and applicable regulatory guidelines (e.g., USP, Joint Commission, state board regulations). Effective leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to train and coach others. Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in pharmacy automation systems and electronic health record (EHR) platforms. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Licenses and Certifications
LPT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech required Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent national certification required BCLS - Basic Life Support preferred
