Job Summary
The College of Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Pharmacy Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator to serve as the college’s primary ambassador to prospective Doctor of Pharmacy students. Based in Portland, Oregon, this position plays a vital role in sharing the mission and impact of our program with students across the state and beyond.
This position leads strategic recruitment efforts that reflect the college’s commitment to inclusion, innovation, and academic excellence. Key Responsibilities
70% – Recruitment and Outreach Coordination
Leads efforts to grow and diversify the applicant pool for the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program at Oregon State University. As the college’s primary recruiter, this position plays a vital, public-facing role by cultivating strong, positive connections with prospective students, their families, academic advisors, and community partners.
+ Serves as the first point of contact for prospective students, ensuring consistent availability to meet one-on-one—both in-person and virtually—to answer questions, share program highlights, and guide them through the admissions process.
+ Leads the planning, coordination, and execution of high-impact recruitment events at the local, regional, and national levels—ensuring each interaction meaningfully advances the college’s enrollment goals. Serves as the primary representative of the Pharm.D. program at these events, bringing enthusiasm, professionalism, and a student-centered approach to every engagement.
+ Partners closely with the Admissions & Recruitment Manager to implement a strategic recruitment plan that reflects the college’s values and enrollment goals.
+ Collaborates with high school and college personnel, pre-health advisors, and community organizations to build awareness of the Pharm.D. program and encourage interest among diverse student populations.
+ Contributes to communication and outreach materials that reflect the student experience, including email campaigns, event materials, and social media content.
+ Promotes a sense of belonging and encourages inclusive participation by uplifting the college’s commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion ( JEDI ) in all recruitment interactions, especially when engaging with historically underserved or marginalized communities.
+ Effectively and strategically uses tools such as Outlook, Box, and Slate to manage communications, schedule meetings, organize files, and track prospective student engagement.
+ Works in partnership with the Director of Assessment and the Admissions & Recruitment Manager to assess the impact of recruitment activities and identify areas for growth or innovation.
+ Travels frequently to recruitment events and represents the College of Pharmacy with energy, care, and a student-centered mindset.
+ Brings creativity and approachability to all outreach activities to ensure prospective students feel supported, seen, and excited about a future in pharmacy.
20% – Pharm.D. Admissions Support
Provides essential support to the Admissions & Recruitment Manager and contributes to high-impact programming that shapes the student experience and fosters a strong sense of community within the College of Pharmacy.
+ Collaborates with the Admissions & Recruitment Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute Pharm.D. admissions programming, including Interview Days, Admitted Student Events, and yield activities.
+ Participates enthusiastically in Interview Days by supporting event logistics, greeting candidates, facilitating schedules, and helping create a welcoming, professional environment.
+ Serves as a visible and positive representative of the College of Pharmacy at both internal and external events.
+ Advises prospective and pre-pharmacy students by reviewing academic transcripts and providing personalized guidance on prerequisite coursework to support application readiness and success.
+ Supports admissions communications and student engagement efforts to ensure a seamless, student-centered experience from first contact through enrollment.
+ Utilizes Slate, the college’s admissions CRM , with accuracy and efficiency to manage prospective student interactions, monitor application progress, track event participation, and support data-informed decision-making.
10% – College of Pharmacy Support
Contributes to the broader mission and community life of the College of Pharmacy through collaboration, service, and active participation in college-wide initiatives.
+ Actively participates in college-wide events such as New Student Orientation, All-College Meetings, Graduation, and other key milestones with a collaborative and service-oriented spirit.
+ Supports a positive team environment by being adaptable, communicative, and committed to the college’s mission, vision, and values.
+ Represents the college on university and external committees as appropriate.
+ Performs other duties as assigned to support the college’s strategic priorities and student success initiatives.
What You Will Need
+ Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year not-for-profit college or university and experience with student services, recruitment, or educational programs.
+ A genuine passion for working with students from diverse backgrounds, including high-ability students, high school students, community college students, and those who are low-income, first-generation, and racially/ethnically diverse.
+ Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats, including presenting to groups.
+ Ability and willingness to be a positive, collaborative teammate and colleague in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
+ Capacity to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
+ Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism at all times.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other relevant technology platforms.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified, and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
What We Would Like You to Have
+ Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, marketing, communications, or a related field that provides relevant knowledge and skills.
+ Experience providing academic advising, coaching, or guidance to support student success in post-secondary education.
+ Proven experience developing marketing materials and communications for recruitment or outreach purposes.
+ Experience organizing, coordinating, and managing large programs or events, especially those involving multiple stakeholders.
+ Familiarity with key higher education administrative systems including Slate, Banner, Data Warehouse, DegreeWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Knowledge of assessment, evaluation, and quality improvement methods to measure program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position requires frequent travel by car and plane to attend recruitment events and admissions activities across Oregon and nationally. Travel includes driving between the OSU Corvallis campus, the College of Pharmacy’s Portland location on the OHSU campus, and various off-site recruitment venues.
The position also requires occasional evening and weekend work to support recruitment events, admissions programming, and college activities that occur outside of standard business hours.
