Sentara is hiring an IV Pharmacy Technician for our Home Care Team

Location: Chesapeake, Home Care

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating - 8 hour shifts

Hours: 7am-7pm

Weekend: Every 5th Saturday & On Call Friday-Monday

Holiday : On Call Rotation

The Pharmacy Tech II Clinical performs the technician responsibilities of clinical pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work areaDemonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competentlyAssumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positionsParticipates in the training of new employeesFills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitionerEnsures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient careTriages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as neededUses appropriate systems for processing patient informationEnsures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirementsOperates pharmacy equipment appropriatelyParticipates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient careTraining in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assignedA pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Certification/Licensure

Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB (Required)

Experience

2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)1 Year IV or Sterile Compounding Experience (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$18.62 - $27.92. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
