Responsibilities include:
* Responsible for procurement, receiving and inventory control of pharmaceuticals
* Processing purchase orders and invoices
* Maintaining contract files and for compliance with contracts
* Response to pharmaceutical recalls.
* Alerts the Director of Pharmacy of changes in buying trends, including unusual use of drugs and use of new costly drugs.
* Capable of fully functioning under the Pharmacy Technician job description.
* Facilitates teamwork and good interdepartmental relationships.
* Collaborates with other health care disciplines and supports the needs of patients and families.
* Maintains confidentiality of patient, staff, department and hospital information.
* Participates in continuous quality improvement.
* Performs other related functions as assigned.
* Responsible for performing basic pharmacy technician duties.
* Works under the supervision of registered pharmacists.
*Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:*
* High school diploma or equivalent.
*Required Certification/Registration:*
* California Board of Pharmacy Certification.
*Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:*
* Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
* Minimum of five years hospital inpatient pharmacy technician experience preferred.
* Minimum skills in word processing and spreadsheet software ability to use drug wholesaler online software.
