About Us:
This is a division of Shoppers Drug Mart that prepares the medication packs (CPAKs) and Cvials that are distributed at the stores to patients. This centralized process enables the pharmacist and team at Shoppers Drug Mart locations to spend their time focusing on what is important – the patient! Working with the team, you will be responsible to ensure that the prepared CPAKs and Cvials are accurate and prepared in a timely manner.
About the role:
Reporting directly to the Inventory Management Team Lead, the Inventory Management Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for inventory management and supports procurement for Central Pharmacy Services located in Moncton. The Inventory Management Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for carrying out daily inventory task related to inventory management, including, but not limited to placing Orders, maintaining MSLs, receiving orders, investigating discrepancies. They will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining MMS by performing tasks like Holding tanks, updating UPCs, utilizing suggested orders and reviewing DIN equivalent reports.

Inventory Management:
Reviews clinical and operations initiatives to determine inventory needs, taking into account current on hand inventory and the required lead times to ensure Central Pharmacy Services can execute on initiativesActively seeks out opportunities for improvement within the scope of Inventory Management to meet performance, quality and financial targetsPartners with operational site and other teams to ensure effective resolution of all inventory related issuesMaintain proper storage of medications within the pharmacy according to 5S principlesEnsure stock bottles are put away in accordance with established workflowMaintaining perpetual inventory systemManage customer returns and expired products in accordance with established disposal protocol (e.g. Stericycle One Box)Prioritize recalls and immediately isolate product; quarantine until details of the recall are providedManagement of preferred generic product e.g. DSPMonitor and maintain MMS by performing daily Inventory tasks like Holding tanks, updating UPCs, utilizing suggested orders, reviewing DIN equivalent report.Maintain Overstock to ensure the uninterrupted supply of all productsReview flip daily for inventory related communication, including but not limited to Product Shortages and Availability Report, New Generics and Dedicated Supplier Products, and Product Appearance Changes.Manage drug appearance changes effectively and accurately.Work closely with the Pharmacists/RPhT to prepare store communications for product availability updatesTrack and communicate low stock and out of stock situations according to pharmacy procedures
Others:
Ensure stock rotation is completed and expired product is removed from the shelf and returned in accordance with standard operating proceduresPerform cycle counts in accordance with Standard Operating ProceduresCarry out daily inventory task, including, but not limited to placing Orders, maintaining MSLs, receiving orders, investigating discrepanciesOrder and maintain non-prescription merchandise in the dispensary, including stock rotation and the management of expired products
What you will need:
Highschool Diploma2-3 years in Pharmacy inventory managementIn-depth knowledge of MMS and HealthWatchCreative problem solver and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy while adapting to multiple prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong skills of MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPointMinimum 2 years of experience in a retail pharmacy or a central pharmacy facilityExperience working in a fast-paced environment where high attention to detail and accuracy is essentialExcellent communication skills and interpersonal skillsWhy work at Shoppers Drug Mart?
