Directs and oversees development and maintenance of all pharmacy services automation and related programs

Directs the hands-on coordination of automation projects (upgrades, new implementations) and oversees maintenance programs of all pharmacy technologies. 

Coordinates the development of pharmacy procedures to maximize automation (products, workflow, equipment, billing, etc.) 

Develops and implements quality assurance of systems such as billing, compendium updates, etc. 

Communicates progress effectively to appropriate stakeholders.

Builds and assures accuracy of medication order sets, etc. in pharmacy clinical system. Scanning, price changes, new medication build, and general maintenance will also be regularly performed. Oversees Epic Upgrades for pharmacy. 

Develops scope and meets timelines for automation projects. 

Analyzes management reports generated from automated processes for use in process improvement and strategic and tactical planning. 

Works closely with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to ensure we meet all rules and regulations for the prescribing and dispensing of medications. 

Audits the IT security process to ensure all Federal and State laws are being followed as it relates to the prescribing and distribution of medications throughout the network 

Submits necessary reports to the Board of Pharmacy as required

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION:          

Degree in pharmacy from an accredited college.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:   

Two years of pharmacy operations experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:         

Needs to be knowledgeable about information systems and automation used in acute care and ambulatory care services.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

License or Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Ohio

Epic Willow, Epic Willow Ambulatory, and Epic Beacon Certification required (may be obtained after hire)
