Responsibilities include: * Primarily clinical based practice demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescriptive authorities as approved by the medical staff. * Participating in direct patient care with patient care teams. * Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and oversees clinical activities of clinical pharmacists in training. * Round with the medical team and provide patient care interventions * Precepting students and/or residents as appropriate * Reviewing and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost. Documenting the care provided to patients. * Supervising the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate. * Routinely communicating with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy. * Contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy. * Demonstrating ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title. * Demonstrating ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.
