Northern Light Health Department: Pharmacy - EMMC Position is located: Lafayette Building Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 40.00 Work Schedule: No Hours Assigned Summary: Eastern Maine Medical Center is currently seeking a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute. This candidate will cover our adult oncology outpatient clinic, pediatric oncology outpatient clinic, general infusion area and inpatient oncology (both adults and pediatrics). This candidate will be working with the oncology team to deliver a wide variety of services to patients, including education, aiding with chemotherapy order writing/ reviewing , monitoring adverse events, evaluating drug—drug and drug–disease interactions, and providing supportive care. Day to day activities will include the preparation and dispensing of drugs, review of patient medication profiles, review and verification of physician medication orders to ensure safe, effective and appropriate medications for our patients. This candidate will also help develop Cerner treatment protocols with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities: + Monitor patient treatment plans for safety and accuracy. + Serve as a drug information resource for providers, nurses, and patients. + Participate in drug formulary management and assist with safe implementation of new medications and treatment regimens. + Oversees the safe handling and preparation of various medications, both hazardous and non-hazardous drugs. + Oversees pharmacy operations and technician practice/activities. + Assist with update and development of Cerner Oncology Regimens. + Provide education to providers, nurses, and patients. + Other Duties as assigned.
