Supervises support personnel and students/interns during the performance of their appropriate tasks. Inspects Unit-Dose packaging and labeling for accuracy and completeness. Works and communicates with other Department of Corrections staff to complete duties and ensure accurate medication dispensing. Conducts medication regimen reviews to assure formulary compliance and appropriate prescribing practices; documents these reviews and if recommendations were made for change for follow-up by Director of Pharmacy. Maintains awareness of inventory control methods and proper accountability for stock on hand, including appropriate procedures for ordering and returns of outdated and recalled merchandise. Assures that pharmacy stock is inspected as requires and records are maintained. Minimum Qualification Requirements Licensure as a Pharmacist by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners.
