Job Title: PharmacistJob Description As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for entering medication orders into the computer system and dispensing medications accurately and promptly, ensuring the appropriate quantities are based on stability, compatibility, and age-specific needs. You will verify prescriptions, assess patients, develop care plans, and monitor therapy. Additionally, you will communicate with physicians to suggest cost-effective drug therapies and collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure clinical outcomes are met. Responsibilities + Enter medication orders into the computer system and dispense medications accurately. + Verify all prescriptions not directly received from the physician or the physician’s agent. + Assess patients at the initiation of drug therapy and develop patient care plans. + Monitor patients according to the care plan throughout the course of therapy. + Communicate with physicians to suggest alternate or modified drug therapy programs. + Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure cost-effective delivery methods. + Input information into computerized software for accurate dispensing and billing. + Coordinate and check the work of pharmacy technicians. + Compound pharmaceuticals aseptically according to guidelines. + Handle and compound sterile and hazardous medications per established guidelines. + Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, and other regulatory standards. + Participate in department meetings and maintain required licenses and competencies. + Oversee the safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness of pharmaceutical care related to specialty products. Essential Skills + Pharmacy, PharmD, Bachelor in Science of Pharmacy, or Doctor of Pharmacy degree. + Current and active KS Pharmacist License. + 1+ years of Pharmacist experience. + Acute Pharmacy Compounding experience preferred. + Proven verbal and written communication skills. + Interpersonal relationship skills and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Hospital experience preferred. + Experience or interest in compounding. Work Environment This position is full-time, Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm, with optional overtime starting at 6:30am or 7am. The role is situated in a closed-door pharmacy setting with a team of 55 people, divided between the front of the house and the production area. Employees enjoy a one-hour lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. The environment is laid-back, with music playing in the background . Comfortable attire is encouraged, especially for those in the fulfillment area who are on their feet most of the day. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $61.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
