In this role, there is the opportunity to –

Interpret and evaluate physician orders and prescriptions to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medications for inpatient and outpatient treatment in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and promptly to ensure patient safety. Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchange protocols, and promoting rational drug therapy selection. Review and maintain patient medication records to identify allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications. Organize daily operational duties and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians, aides, student interns, and other personnel involved in pharmaceutical care. Adhere to all regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital quality management policies in providing pharmaceutical care. Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear, illegible, or incomplete orders promptly. Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students. Utilize computer systems and technologies to support the provision of pharmaceutical care. Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic technique in a sterile product preparation area.
