Your determination to deliver quality and accuracy will improve health outcomes that people and communities depend on – now and in the future.\n\nLocation/Division Specific Information\nOur global Clinical Operations colleagues within our PPD® clinical research services provide end-to-end support for clinical trials from study start up to monitoring through to study close out, across commercial and government contracts. Together, we help clients define and develop clinical programs, minimize delays, and execute high-quality, cost-efficient clinical studies.\n\nDiscover Impactful Work:\nAccounts for all drug supplies received for studies including documentation of receipt, dispensation, and return of drug. Ensures that established packaging and preparation of dose procedures are followed by all staff. Ensures quality assurance regarding all pharmacy technician documentation and preparation of doses. Works closely with support of department management in all aspects of pharmacy operations and management.\n\nA day in the Life:\nServes as Pharmacy Lead on incoming clinical study protocols; plans and prepares for accurate dosing including packaging, preparation, and administration of doses.\nAnticipates potential dosing errors and develops a plan of action to prevent their occurrence.\nEnsures adequate supplies of clinical samples are retained with documentation of random selection procedure, as required for study.\nServes as liaison and consultant to sponsors concerning pharmacy details for future and current protocols.\nInteracts as a vital member of the project team offering guidance in pharmacy procedures and operations specific to each protocol.\nServes as departmental resource for pharmacy related clinical inquiries from\nInvestigators, clinic training and support staff, Client Services, Sponsor companies, and others as needed.\nParticipates in cross training activities with other departments.\nWorks with management on improving department processes and needs.\nUnderstands and effectively uses corporate procurement procedures.\nPerforms special duties and assignments as needed.\nKeys to Success:\nEducation\nDoctor of Pharmacy\nLicensed to practice pharmacy in the applicable state or eligible to receive licensure within required timeframe\nNational, State or Local licensures and certifications as required\nExperience\nPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).\n\nIn some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities\nKnowledge of clinical research procedures\nKnowledge of drug information\nSkilled in preparation of sterile products\nComputer skills including Microsoft Office\nAttention to detail\nGood written and oral communication skills\nEffective time management and project management skills\nProblem solving/troubleshooting abilities\nAbility to work in a collaborative team environment\nPhysical Requirements / Work Environment\nWork is performed in an office/ laboratory and/or a clinical environment.\nExposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.\nExposure to electrical office equipment.\nPersonal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.\nExposure to high pressure, intense concentration needed\nMust be able to multi-task constantly\nFrequent interaction with clients / associates required\nLong, varied hours required occasionally\nTravel and rotating shifts required on rare occasions\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.\nRepetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.\nFrequent mobility required.\nOccasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.\nKneeling, twisting of upper body / neck, and pushing / pulling of items required occasionally.\nLifting / carrying objects of 5-25 lbs. required daily.\nLifting / carrying objects of 26-50+lbs. required occasionally\nAbility to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.\nAbility to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.\nFrequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups.\nPerforms a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress.
