The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Mission Systems & Autonomy Architect (Level 4/5) to lead the definition and development of Mission Systems & Autonomy Labs and Test for Phantom Works in Berkeley, MO.

The Mission Systems & Autonomy Architect will work across both software and hardware integration concepts aligned with our program growth strategies.  The successful candidate will offer subject matter expertise (SME) across one or more of the following areas:

Mission Systems & AutonomySpecification and Integration of open architecture constructs like Open Mission Systems (OMS), Open Communication Standard (OCS); utilizing the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).Platform architecture and interface definitions in an evolving development environment.Lab and Test

The Phantom Works Mission Systems & Autonomy Team develops complex, highly integrated, advanced systems into autonomous platforms enabling future growth for Boeing and our customers. We need innovative engineers like you to help shape the future of military aviation by developing and integrating next generation Mission Systems capabilities as part of a very exciting and critically important autonomous systems.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead system integration lab infrastructure, interfaces, provisions to support end to end (prototype/demo through production) integration and test capabilitiesLead development of Lab & Test PlanningProvides interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle-balanced solutionsResolves cross-functional technical issuesSupports the design and integration of open architecture Mission Systems solutions; such as, Open Mission Systems (OMS), and Open Communication Standard (OCS)Analyzes supplier performance to ensure compliance with requirementsResearches advanced technologies for potential application to company business needsSupports proposal efforts, including authoring portion of technical volume and providing estimates of required work to accomplish scope

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or Internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship and Special Program Access may be required.

An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Currently possess a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryLevel 4: 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR 7+ years of work-related experience with a Masters OR 3+ years of work-related experience with a PhDLevel 5: 14+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR 12+ years of work-related experience with a Masters OR 9+ years of work-related experience with a PhD5+ years’ experience with complex mission systems development5+ years’ experience with hardware & software utilized on air vehicle, avionics, weapons, or mission systems5+ years’ experience with mission systems strategy and growth architecture roadmapsExperience with integration of complex systems in lab & test environmentsExperience with mission systems safety and certification

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

10+ years’ engineering experience with autonomous aircraft platform mission systems10+ years’ experience with developing, documenting and maintaining complex architectures, requirements, software-to-hardware interfaces, and designs for systemsExperience in Level of Rigor (LOR) or Design Assurance Level (DAL) certificationExperience developing system requirements, verification plans, functional decomposition / allocation, and interfaces.Communication experience, both written and verbal, with a comfort in public speaking and frequent interactions with external customersExperience with avionics integration and verificationExperience working with multi-discipline engineering teamExperience working with suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirementsExperience working with USAF or other DOD customers

Typical Education & Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Level 4: $99,000-$177,000

Summary pay range for Level 5: $119,000-$212,000
