A day in the life.

As our Personal Lines Advisor on the Personal Lines team, you’ll be responsible for selling new business accounts, soliciting opportunities from existing clients and maintaining relationships with referral sources, including MMA colleagues.  

The Personal Lines Advisor role includes participation in the PL sales team by impacting the new business growth and retention by providing coverage solutions. Activities include but are not limited to new and occasional renewal marketing, handling client questions and requests as they pertain to the sales process, policy checking and coverage review.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive phone calls and office visitors requesting new or adding additional Personal Lines business.Determine acceptability and placement, complete applications and collect premium when applicable.Utilize carrier websites and online rating systems.Maintain client files accurately and consistently.   Properly document files and communicate in accordance with company workflows, procedures and Best Practices.  Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management and document management systems. Maintain timely automated follow-up on outstanding activities and correspondence.Knowledge of underwriting and rating procedures for all types of personal lines policies including performing underwriting functions whenever necessary.Adhere to department and agency protocol and Best Practices.Participate in department meetings.Provide training to others as requested.Perform other duties as requested.

Current Florida 2-20 license or willingness to obtain.College degree desirable or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 2 years experience with knowledge of Florida insurance markets and underwriting procedures.Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, colleagues, carriers, vendors and other business contacts.  Ability to work in a team environment.Interact with others effectively by utilizing strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.Comfortable with internet-based programs as well as intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office products.  Knowledge of Epic, Sagitta/ImageRight preferred, but not required.Excellent time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.Ability to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information and respond appropriately
