The Permit & License Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing the full licensing process for projects at both corporate and site levels. This role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements, enabling lawful and traceable project operations.
Key Responsibilities:License Management:
Oversee end-to-end licensing processes to ensure full legal and regulatory compliance.
Application Oversight:
Plan, supervise, and monitor license applications (IEE, CoP, Land Use, Construction Permit, etc.) across all project phases.
Document Control:
Review and validate all license-related documents for completeness and accuracy.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Liaise with consultants, government agencies, and internal departments to ensure timely submissions.
Approval Monitoring:
Track license approval statuses and provide regular updates to management.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to CoP and IEE requirements; verify accuracy of submitted reports.
Operational Readiness:
Prepare and oversee performance test reports for electrical systems to support ERC/IEAT notifications and COD.
License Renewals:
Manage timely renewals (e.g., NBTC, Power Retail License) to avoid disruptions.
Regulatory Reporting:
Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure compliance with license conditions.
Government Liaison:
Act as the main contact for provincial and national agencies; handle audits and maintain strong relationships.
System Improvement:
Enhance and maintain license tracking systems (e.g., Excel License Tracker).
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Lead license coordination meetings with O&M, Engineering, CSR, and other teams.
Budget Support:
Collaborate on annual license fee forecasts to support compliance budgeting.
Training & Awareness:
Provide internal training and consultation on license-related regulations.
Knowledge Management:
Develop and maintain a centralized License Knowledge Base.
Other Duties:
Support additional tasks as assigned by management to meet organizational goals.
