The Perinatal Educator-RN Responsibilities include:

Facilitating and presenting educational programs and support groups to community members including Prepared Childbirth, New Mothers' Support Group, Newborn Care, Water Birth, Yoga for the Mother-To-Be, and/or other related classes. Assisting women and their families to make informed decisions for childbearing regarding benefits and risks evaluation, clarification of values and rights and responsibilities.Maintaining competence in the practice of childbirth education and remaining current in research related to the childbearing process. Assisting in on-going quality improvement based on feedback from participants. Collecting accurate attendance data for statistics. Performing other duties as assigned. Promoting evidence-based clinical care that exemplifies the pursuit of clinical excellence.

Education:

Required Associates Degree in NursingPreferred Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Experience:

Required 2 years RN experience in Labor & Delivery OR Mom/Baby OR Nursery/NICUPreferred 1 year training/teaching
