Cognizant is looking for a **Performance Engineer** with deep expertise in **database performance tuning** , **application optimization** , and **performance monitoring tools** . Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) **Required Qualifications:** + At least 5 years of hands-on experience in performance engineering, including exposure to SAP or similar enterprise platforms/databases. + Proven experience in database performance tuning and optimization. + Strong skills in tuning SQL queries and stored procedures. + Ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify performance bottlenecks. + Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Perl, ABAP, Java, or C++. + Experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner Enterprise, Apache JMeter, SoapUI, and Postman. + Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, visualization, and end-to-end performance evaluation. + Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs. + Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools like Dynatrace and AppDynamics. + Experience using profiling tools to identify performance issues efficiently. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience in performance assessment and optimization of applications built on SAP HANA. + Familiarity with SAP BTP components such as API Management, SAP Integration Suite, Conversational AI, Data Intelligence, and AWS storage services. + Experience with performance monitoring in SAP environments, including HANA DB Cockpit and SAP BTP Cockpit. + Solid understanding of relational and in-memory databases. + Knowledge of algorithms and computational complexity (Big-O notation). + Experience with version control systems such as Git. + Understanding of Agile or Scrum development methodologies. **Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)** Applications will be accepted until July 10th , 2025. The annual salary for this position is between $ 68,422 to 114,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
