**Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):**
Training and certification as a nuclear medicine technologist: Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT Nuclear Medicine Technology Registered Technologist (ARRT(N)). Active NMTCB (CT) or ARRT (CT) certification. NYS licensure in Nuclear Medicine. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience with radiation safety and quality control procedures.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
One (1) year of experience performing PET/CT scans in a clinical or research setting. Experience in academic or clinical research imaging. Familiarity with PET research-related documents and SOPs.
**Brief Description of Duties:**
We are seeking a certified and licensed PET/CT Technologist to provide per diem coverage in a clinical research setting. The ideal candidate must hold active certification in both Nuclear Medicine and CT. This role involves the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals and the acquisition of high-quality PET/CT images in accordance with protocol-specific and institutional standards. The technologist will work closely with research coordinators, investigators, and clinical teams to ensure protocol compliance and participant safety.
The PET Research Core (https://renaissance.stonybrookmedicine.edu/PET\_research\_core) is a core facility of Stony Brook Medicine that provides PET imaging and analysis services. Images and analysis are used in research studies funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and private foundations. This position requires independent judgment, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and strong ability to multitask. The successful incumbent must have excellent writing skills, verbal communication and be highly organized. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Perform PET/CT imaging procedures according to research protocols and departmental guidelines.
● Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following ALARA principles and all applicable safety regulations.
● Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for radiopharmaceutical injection.
● Operate and maintain PET/CT imaging systems, including performing QA/QC procedures.
● Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions to radiopharmaceuticals
● Accurately document scan parameters, participant information, and study data in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
● Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning during all imaging procedures.
● Maintain current knowledge of evolving imaging protocols, regulatory requirements, and equipment operation.
● Work flexible hours as needed to support research scan schedules.
● Other Duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
