Peering and Interconnection Strategic Negotiator

Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 6 years of experience with technical, commercial and legal areas of telecommunications and carrier markets. + Experience with carrier markets within Asia. Preferred qualifications: + 10 years of experience in peering and interconnection negotiations and planning including internet protocols, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and internet systems with Domain Name System (DNS) and address allocation. + Experience in performing data-motivated network availability and resiliency analysis. + Ability to negotiate interconnect and content caching agreements with vendors, partners and suppliers. + Ability to connect with industry executives to develop relationships/initiatives. + Excellent financial skills including network present value calculations, agreement structuring, and return on investment analysis. As Google's products and services grow to serve our billions of users, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future. It's a big job that involves everything from operating underwater cables to finding data center space. In this role you combine your deep market knowledge with tech industry savvy to find solutions that support Google's growth. You'll work with specific teams to oversee vendor and partner relationships. Your successful management skills have the potential to impact every part of the business and save Google millions of dollars in operating costs. You'll ensure that we receive contract compliance on our third-party agreements, while identifying the most cost-effective solutions for our needs. You'll take lead on special projects, manage vendors and present your recommendations to Google leadership. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring traffic exchange for the global users. You will build and maintain the physical interconnections and sound regulatory frameworks underpinning Google's services. You will solve tests that fuel Google's growth. You will also lead projects, manage partnerships, and present recommendations to Google leadership. You will lead Google's network peering and interconnect strategy across Asia-Pacific. You will serve as primary liaison with key peering and interconnection forums, communities, and Internet Exchanges. You will organize workshops, attend conferences, and deliver presentations on Google's latest peering, interconnection, and caching policies. You will identify and respond to regulatory and commercial signals related to paid peering and network usage fees. + Lead Google's Internet peering, interconnect, and caching programs across Asia-Pacific (APAC), ensuring alignment with government and public policy initiatives. + Integrate Google's cloud networking products with internet interconnection strategies. + Cultivate relationships within the peering and Internet Exchange (IX) communities in Asia's markets. + Analyze network traffic data to optimize routing, troubleshoot irregularities, and address congestion. + Coordinate with provisioning teams for upgrades of peering connections.
