Job SummaryThe Michigan Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is looking for 4-6 Peer Mentors to join our expanding research team. The successful candidates will be crucial in providing peer support and mentorship for participants taking part in a research initiative to improve the mental health of transgender and nonbinary individuals starting gender-affirming hormones. The ideal candidates will be able to provide supportive guidance to individuals through the gender transition process and have experience providing peer support. The peer mentors will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Study Coordinator, and Peer Coordinator to ensure the peer support initiative is conducted in accordance with our study protocol, our guiding principles, and University of Michigan regulatory guidelines. This position is temporary and requires about 5 hours/week. Candidates must be able to work in-person with potential for hybrid work.
