About the role.
The Peeler Operator is responsible for appropriate potato blends, and the cleanliness of their area, from the bins to the metering tank.
What you’ll be doing.
Maintain close communication with ADR Operator and Production Supervisor to ensure defect levels/defect sorting is at an acceptable level.
Manage trim loss waste stream through setup and monitoring of the Foreign Material (FM) sorting equipment. Liaise with Foreign Material Inspectors to monitor foreign material.
Complete daily sanitation routine of the peeler/potato receiving area including (but not limited to): Trim area, de-skinners, peelers, barrel washers, scrubber, evenflows, sizer, bins, and conveyors.
Obtain and record accurate potato inventories throughout the shift.
Ensure proper and efficient operation of the main barrel washer. Drain and clean this equipment at least once per shift.
Complete raw solids distribution tests during every Mac Fry production run.
Assist the sanitation team throughout the facility, including various areas during the High Performance Clean (HPC).
Maintains all required documentation including entering OSI Pi data.
Provide support and relief to various production staff as required.
Follow our recipe control program.
Other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to be successful. .
Must have proven history of safe work habits and able to exercise good judgment in making decisions relative to the operation of a production line.
Thorough understanding of WHMIS, plant sanitation requirements, industrial chemicals, and HACCP and AIB Gold standards.
Familiarity with potato receiving area is an asset.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of Grade 12 education.
Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.
Must have proven history of safe work habits.
Must be willing to cross train in other jobs to cover breaks.
Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS. Must have or be willing to obtain Forklift, Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift (minimum height requirement 20’)Must be able and willing to assist in Fryer Boilout scraping.
Able to work in a high humidity, high temperature work environment. Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy lifting (up to 70lbs)
