Our pediatric care team offers a broad range of healthcare services. We work directly with pediatric sub specialists and surgeons at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital—the only hospital of its kind in the region and part of the Albany Med Health System. The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital houses a 60 bed NICU, 19 bed PICU and a new pediatric emergency department that opened in 2018.

Clinical Geneticist
The selected candidate will be involved in clinical, research, and educational activities of the Division, which articulate with other specialties at the department of pediatrics and Department of OB/GYN-Maternal Fetal Medicine.
+ Large variety of clinical activities including adult and pediatric patient care in General Genetics/ Dysmorphology, Prenatal Genetics, Cancer Genetics, pharmacogenetics, Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and Newborn Screening Follow-up program.
+ Inpatient hospital consults and outpatient clinics.
+ Clinical support from division chief, a clinical geneticist/cytogeneticist, and our Medical Genetics Faculty, including a Medical Biochemical Geneticist (Metabolic Disorders), four Genetic Counselors, a Genetic NP, a Genetic PA, a Genetic RN, and a dietician.
+ Teaching opportunities, and potential for clinical research.
+ Excellent pediatric subspecialties support.
Individuals interested in this position should be an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and should be board certified/eligible in Clinical Genetics. Board certification/eligibility or experience in clinical molecular genetics is a plus.
Base salary range $180,000 to $250,000 per year based on experience and training. Salary for faculty with higher academic rank will be addressed at time of interview.
Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician
Functions of our team include:
+ Diagnostic assessments and medical management of patients up to 21 years of age with the broad range of developmental concerns including:
+ Autism Spectrum Disorder
+ Developmental delays
+ ADHD
+ Learning disorders
+ Behavioral health disorders including anxiety
+ Neonatal follow up
+ Partnering with pediatric practitioners including psychiatry, general pediatrics, neurology and genetics
+ Recent practice innovations include a Medical Home for children with ASD, the development of a feeding team and a “fast track” developmental screening for children under age 5.
Successful candidates should possess:
+ Board certification or board eligibility in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
+ Interest in developing innovative programming within the scope of DB practice
+ Experience or interest in teaching house staff and medical students
+ Strong dedication to providing high-quality, patient centered care across diverse populations
Base salary range $190,000-$198,000 per year based on experience and training. Salary for faculty with higher academic rank to be addressed at time of interview.
Pediatric Gastroenterologist
We are seeking a full time Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our team. We look for candidates who are interested in joining a comprehensive clinical program dedicated to the care of children and adolescents who have gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and/or nutritional disease.
Division overview:
+ 4 full-time physicians, 2 pediatric nurse practitioners, 4 full-time nurses, and a part-time dietitian.
+ Collaboration with adult gastroenterologists, diagnostic and interventional radiologists, pathologists, pediatric surgeons, behavioral therapists, social workers, and child life specialists.
+ Most procedures are performed in a state-of-the-art outpatient endoscopy unit, with anesthesia support available for all cases.
+ Comprehensive GI care provided for infants, children, and adolescents across a large catchment area, serving as the major tertiary referral center for 25 counties.
Responsibilities and requirements:
+ Provide expert care to patients with a variety of gastrointestinal disorders, including complex conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease and functional GI disorders.
+ Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper and lower GI endoscopy, esophageal pH (including BRAVO) and impedance studies, video capsule endoscopy, and anorectal and esophageal manometry studies.
+ Participate in the on-call inpatient schedule 1 in 5 weeks.
+ Engage in teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows, fostering their growth in pediatric gastroenterology.
+ Participate in multidisciplinary clinics including aerodigestive, spina bifida and autism medical home.
+ Contribute to ongoing clinical research and quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes.
+ Help expand the division’s clinical and academic mission by actively participating in departmental and institutional initiatives.
+ Board eligibility or certification in pediatric gastroenterology is required.
Base salary range $223,000-233,000 per year based on experience and training. Salary for faculty with higher academic rank to be addressed at time of interview.
Pediatric Intensivist
The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine is seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensivist at the Associate or Full Professor level to join our team. This mid- to senior-level faculty position fills an immediate opening and offers a meaningful opportunity to shape the future of our program while contributing to clinical excellence, research, and education.
About the Division:
+ 19-bed medical/surgical PICU with over 1,000 annual admissions
+ Serves patients from 25 counties across New York’s Capital Region
+ Strong collaboration with active Congenital Heart Program
+ Seven faculty members dedicated to clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity.
Position Highlights:
+ 24/7 in-house coverage with support from residents (PGY-2 and above) and an advanced nurse practitioner
+ Provide medical oversight for air and ground transport teams
+ Manage patients requiring chronic ventilation at a nearby long-term care facility
+ Deliver sedation services for pediatric oncology procedures (bone marrow and lumbar puncture)

Competitive base salary range with incentive bonus opportunity $270,000-285,000 (Associate Professor). Base salary will vary depending on academic rank.
Neonatologist
We are seeking an outstanding board-certified/board-eligible Neonatologist to join a comprehensive clinical program dedicated to the diagnosis, care, and management of infants.
The Division of Neonatology provides patient care in a culturally diverse, family centered 60 bed single/twin room NICU. As a New York State-designated Regional Perinatal Center and the only major academic center in the area, we are the resource for 13,000 deliveries a year in the region. We offer:
+ Full-service NICU facility
+ Support from the entire spectrum of Pediatric and Pediatric surgical specialists
+ High-risk perinatal unit, air and ground transport services to all of northeastern NY
+ Fellowship program and a High-Risk Infant Follow-up Program
The Division consists of 11 neonatologists and 24 advanced practice providers.
+ The NICU admits more than 800 infants each year including 250 transfers.
+ Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology delivers 2200 infants a year with a large cohort of high-risk mothers requiring neonatal services for their infants.

For assistant professor ranked faculty, the salary range is $240,000-$250,000 commensurate with experience. For higher ranked faculty, salary range would be discussed upon interview.
Pediatric Nephrologist
We are seeking an outstanding board-certified/board eligible Pediatric Nephrologist to join a vigorous clinical program directed toward the diagnosis and care of children with kidney diseases. The successful applicant will be the second/third member of the division.
The division oversees the onsite Pediatric Dialysis Unit and contributes to our multispecialty outpatient pediatrics program, which includes multidisciplinary and satellite clinics. The division is supported by a robust pediatric urology division, transplant surgery program, and outstanding interventional radiologists.
Salary range for Assistant Professor is $185,000-$195,000 based on experience. Salary for higher rank positions can be discussed upon request.
Pediatric Neurologist
The Division of Pediatric Neurology is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric neurologist to join our vigorous clinical program. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative, well-supported Pediatric Neurology Division with multidisciplinary support. You will have opportunities to specialize in Epilepsy and Neuromuscular Diseases with access to a robust Epilepsy Surgery Program with potential to expand into pediatrics.
The division consists of a pediatric neurologist, three nurse practitioners, three part-time attendings, a neuropsychologist, a psychologist and a social worker with excellent nursing and administrative support.
Salary range for Assistant Professor is $220,000-$230,000 based on experience. Salary for higher rank positions can be discussed upon request.
Pediatric Palliative Care and Hospital Med
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Sedation, and Palliative Care seeking a full-time combined Pediatric Palliative Care and Hospital Medicine physician to join our expanding team.
About the Role:
Our physicians work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team providing both inpatient and outpatient palliative care services to the children and families of our region. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled clinician with a strong interest in medical education, family-centered care and supporting medically complex patients.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric palliative care as part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
+ Facilitate goals-of-care conversations and provide end-of-life care.
+ Manage chronic symptoms and field outpatient calls from families and nursing staff.
+ Participate in the care of medically complex patients on our inpatient service or at a local long-term care/subacute rehab facility.
+ Contribute to the education and mentorship of Pediatric and Med-Peds residents.
+ Optional involvement in procedural sedation and other Pediatric Hospital Medicine services, depending on interest.
+ Opportunities for leadership and program development within the division and department.
Qualifications:
+ Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
+ Pediatric Palliative Care certification preferred, but strong experience in palliative care will be considered.

Pediatric Pulmonologist
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology is actively recruiting a Pediatric Pulmonologist to join the division. Candidates must be fellowship trained and board certified/eligible in pediatric pulmonology.

The division has multidisciplinary clinics in neuromuscular, aerodigestive and a monthly BPD Clinic for NICU graduates. We also have the region’s only accredited Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center which has been recognized nationally for our quality improvement initiatives and my the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for our participation in local CFF sponsored events.

The division works closely with other members of the Department of Pediatrics to provide specialized and collaborative care for patients in the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med. We collaborate with faculty in critical care, neonatology, hospital medicine, and all the other subspecialty practices. Faculty and staff also mentor medical students from the 3rd and 4th year classes at Albany Medical College, as well as advanced practice students from local colleges.
Competitive base salary range for assistant professor $195,000-$206,000 plus incentive bonus opportunities. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
