Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is currently seeking a Pediatric Sedation/Liaison Nurse.  This position is primarily responsible for the coordinating, scheduling, monitoring and recovering the pediatric patient who receives procedural sedation/anesthesia for a procedure or test. This does include pediatric in- and out-patients when necessary. The Pediatric Sedation/Liaison Nurse will also assure a seamless pediatric experience wherever the procedures take place. Other duties (not exclusive) are: Resource for IV insertion, assisting with temporary nursing management of acutely ill pediatric/picu patients, and assisting with procedural nursing skills.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Preferred: BSN

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Minimum:  Current California Registered Nurse License American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Chemo Competency and/or APON Chemotherapy and/or Biotherapy Provider card.

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE 

Minimum:  5 years acute care pediatric nursing experience, including Pediatric Intensive Care experience
