Pediatric Complex Care Medical Director, Department of Pediatrics
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a dynamic and dedicated physician with experience and special interest and/or training in Pediatric Complex Care to serve as the Medical Director of and clinician for our Pediatric Complex Care Clinic and inpatient consult service in the Division of Pediatric Hospital and Integrative Medicine. This position will lead a multidisciplinary clinic and build a formal inpatient consult service to improve care planning, discharge coordination, and transitions home. UVA Health Children’s supports family centered, efficient, and proactive care – reducing preventable hospitalizations and improving outcomes for the most vulnerable patients. The candidate would have the opportunity to develop 4th year medical student and resident electives in Pediatric Complex Care. The ideal candidate will hold an MD or equivalent and be board-certified in General Pediatrics, with additional expertise or fellowship training in Complex Care or a closely-related field. Academic rank, tenure status, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The candidate will be instrumental in the development and implementation of the Pediatric Complex Care Program at UVA, contributing to the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of services that support children with medical complexity and their families. The Division of Pediatric Hospital & Integrative Medicine is currently comprised of 16 full and part-time pediatricians. The Division has outstanding collaborative working relationships with other pediatric subspecialists, our surgical colleagues and our colleagues in adult medicine.  The University of Virginia Medical Center and Children's Hospital are located adjacent to the main university grounds.
