DescriptionThe Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Emory University School of Medicine in partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta are seeking dedicated cardiac team members to help provide anesthesia care for children undergoing cardiac surgical procedures, cath lab procedures (diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiologic), non-invasive cardiac imaging, and anesthesia care for children with cardiac disease undergoing non-cardiac procedures.
Approximately 700-750 cardiac surgical cases (500-550 on CPB) and 1,200 cardiac catheterizations are performed each year at Children’s team under the care of our team. Our program trains one pediatric cardiac anesthesiology fellow each year. This faculty position includes academic appointment within Emory University School of Medicine (rank commensurate with experience). Both Children’s and Emory support the ongoing professional and leadership development of physicians while maintaining a healthy balance between academics and clinical work, rewarding excellence and productivity in both. Research and teaching activities are cultivated through strong relationships and affiliations with the other departments within the Emory School of Medicine, the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory, Georgia Institute of Technology and the Centers for Disease Control.
Job Requirements:
Completion of an Anesthesiology residency and board certification in Anesthesiology. The candidate must have also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology and demonstrate board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology. Completion of a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship is preferred but candidates with significant equivalent experience may also be considered.
