Position Summary

Reporting directly to the VP&GM, China, the Sales Director will lead the China Sales Team to deliver revenue growth, profitability, and market leadership while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and compliance.

The sales director will define customer commercial strategy and sales plan to achieve both quantitative and qualitative sales goals as well as responsible for developing a qualified and motivated sales sub-team with new business acquisition and growth. It requires strategic vision, strong leadership, and customer-centric approach in achieving the sales targets and building lasting client relationships.

This is one of the most complex and mission-critical sales leadership roles at BorgWarner, requiring exceptional strategic and operational expertise to navigate high customer diversity (multinational OEMs, domestic traditional OEMs, and startups), aggressive sales targets (doubling the sales revenue from 2025 to 2030), and multiple product lines across evolving automotive technologies (including EV and electrical systems).

This role sits at the nexus of China’s evolving automotive ecosystem, where domestic OEMs are accelerating global expansion and international OEMs increasingly rely on China’s cost-competitive supply chain. Success requires a leader who can seamlessly bridge local execution with global priorities, balancing the agility demanded by China’s fast-paced market with the rigor of multinational compliance and process excellence.

As a senior leader, the incumbent will drive continuous improvement in sales processes, team performance, and commercial strategies, working closely with global sales enablement managers to standardize best practices and ensure adherence to policies.

Develop and execute a China-specific sales strategy that addresses market complexity, aggressive growth targets, and diverse product portfolios.

Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Program Management, Plant Operations etc.) to tailor solutions for multinational, domestic, and startup OEMs, ensuring technical and commercial competitiveness.
