Position Summary
The Production Supervisor leads daily production operations for the Vulcan Steam Cooking Business, part of ITW’s Food Equipment Segment. This role is responsible for safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement across multiple departments. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Continuous Improvement
Manage daily workflows, schedules, and resource allocation to meet production goals.Ensure proper tools, materials, and documentation are available to employees.Partner with maintenance and other teams to keep equipment in working condition.Track key performance indicators including productivity, first-time quality, and inventory (MOH).Contribute to annual budgets, long-range planning, and capital projects.Recommend and implement improvements using the ITW toolbox (80/20, PLS, USa).Leadership & People Development
Lead and motivate production teams to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals.Promote a positive, inclusive work environment by applying policies fairly and supporting employee concerns confidentially.Hiring, onboarding, and development of team members; ensure cross-training for skill versatility.Address performance, attendance, and workplace issues professionally and in coordination with ITW policies and HR.Safety & Quality
Foster a safety-first culture by identifying hazards and supporting preventive actions.Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.Support warranty and yield improvement initiatives; participate in quality teams.Maintain accurate reporting and documentation to minimize delays and errors.Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or industrial management preferred.Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing supervision. Union experience a plus.Knowledge of lean manufacturing, JIT, or Kanban systems preferred.Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and quality assurance practices.Experience with fabrication and welding is a plus.Work Environment & Physical Demands
Must be able to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching.PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes).Schedule

$68,000 - $102,000
