• Drive Program Execution
o Use broad cross-functional knowledge and comprehensive management skills to provide direction and leadership to a cross-functional program development team
o Establish a competitive advantage for new product introduction programs and projects that are part of an overall PMO portfolio
o Make commitments to meet specific business goals and objectives, and meet business deliverables defined by the Product Development Process
o Provide critical leadership to ensure overall quality of multiple related projects, while minimizing and mitigating project risks
o Develop and maintain detailed project schedule aligned to PDP Phase expectations
o Monitor and track progress toward established objectives, assess risk, manage project schedules and budgets, and implement strategies to ensure successful delivery of the program on time and on budget
o Ensure alignment between all stakeholders including Operations, Development, Technology, Supply Management, Quality, and Reliability
o Ensure timely and thorough communication at various levels of the organization (Program Team, Customers, Stakeholders, Sr. Management, etc.)
o Plan, monitor, and control project budget(s) that include human resources, component builds, supplier materials, supplier NRE, internal capital, external capital, and general expenses to meet established return on investments
Continuous Improvement Product Development Process
o Establish best practices for developing, implementing, and maintaining program management processes.
o Develop and manage tools to measure achievements of the product development processes including on time, on budget, exceeding reliability targets, and meeting contracted project objectives measures.
o Direct initiatives to identify, prioritize, define, and implement improvements to the product development processes and functional work packet standards to achieve best-in-class status.
o Collaborate with project teams and finance to improve project spend, forecast, and ROI financial cost modeling and reporting.
o Drive acceptance of project management process and common language on program teams that define disciplined capacity planning, project complexity and transparency, and risk exposure across a matrixed organization.
o Initiate and drive continuous improvements to functional operating policies and day-to-day processes.
Enable CRM MECC Strategy
o Identify projects in support of the 5-year site strategy.
o Work with management team and stakeholders on initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, closing and re-prioritizing projects.
o Establish project execution strategies that impact customer satisfaction levels, allocation of time, resources, expenditures, and funds across multiple corporate entities.
o Initiate and pitch project opportunities to business leaders internal and external to MECC.
o Provide feedback to functional department heads during AOP/strategic planning process.
o Coach team members to ensure effective team dynamics and mutual accountability in support of the MECC Mission.
o Coach team members on best practice project management skills to ensure process adherence and effective project management.

• Exceptional project management skills; knowledge of process and project planning best practices.
• Successful Manufacturing Process Development experience.
• Strong track record of leading complex projects requiring strong influence management skills and willingness and ability to institute change.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
+ Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies.
+ Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
+ Manages the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.
+ Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
+ Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
+ Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
+ Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
+ Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project’s key stakeholders.
+ Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.
**PROGRAM MANAGEMENT CAREER STREAM:** Program Managers and Directors focus on tactical, operational activities for a major program with broad or ongoing impact. Levels within the program management career stream typically accomplish program objectives through matrixed employee teams and / or vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managing program/team performance, communicating project and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of program team members. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of program team members.
**DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS**
**Autonomy:** Manages one or more small-scale, developed or mature programs with well-defined program plans and delivery methodologies.
Is accountable for overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction.
**Organizational Impact:** Provides input to establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets .
Recommends new policies and procedures that affect program management.
May have budget accountability for one or more programs.
Program decisions are generally made only after consultation with higher level management.
**Innovation and Complexity:** Problems faced are difficult, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
Problems typically impact multiple workstreams, departments or specialties .
Modifies programs management processes to improve program.
**Communication and Influence:** Communicates and leads meetings with internal and external customers and vendors, conducts briefings to higher level management team.
Solves issues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on program execution plans.
**Leadership and Talent Management:** Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team of professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
Direct involvement in daily tasks necessary for successful program execution.
Not directly responsible for hire or fire decisions and people management.
**Required Knowledge and Experience:** Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one job area.
Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,000.00 - $204,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
