The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans and implements Occupational Therapy treatment in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Must meet basic professional entry-level educational requirements from an accredited occupational therapy programValid NJ OT LicenseBLS through the American Heart AssociationSuccessful completion of all required orientation programs

Provides skilled interventions, maximizing the patient’s outcomes by successfully anticipating patient’s response to care providedPerforms effective, efficient, fluid, and coordinated movement in providing technically competent interventions for patientsPerforms interventions consistent with the plan of careRecognizes physiological and psychological changes in patients and adjusts treatment accordinglyUses intervention time efficiently and effectivelyEngages client / family in problem-solving activitiesModifies task approach, occupations, and the environment to maximize client performanceDetermines time for discharge and educates patient on discharge responsibilitiesDetermines need for referral to other disciplines based upon progress, lack of progress with rehab careDetermines educational needs and educates patients / residents / families
