Job DescriptionWe are seeking a PCB Layout Designer to support a satellite constellation program. As a Sr. PCB Design Engineer, you will be involved in defining and implementing multiple spacecraft subsystems, contributing to all phases of system design and production. This role requires a strong combination of PCB design, assembly, testing, and fabrication knowledge, as well as the ability to work interdependently across teams. *Must have recent experience with Mentor Xpedition.*
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the definition and implementation of spacecraft subsystems.Contribute to all phases of system design and production.Utilize PCB design, assembly, testing, and fabrication knowledge.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.Manage multiple projects in parallel and oversee 3rd party layout services.Test and debug boards using standard electronics lab equipment.Essential Skills7+ years of PCB layout design using industry standard PCB design suites.Recent experience with Mentor Xpedition.5+ years of experience with high-speed circuits.Experience with high current density designs.Experience managing multiple projects in parallel.Experience managing 3rd party layout services.Experience testing and debugging boards using standard electronics lab equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.10+ years of experience in PCB layout design using industry standard PCB design suites.Experience in developing and designing for manufacturing of PCBs deployed in space environments.Knowledge of PCB failure modes and reliability in extreme environments.Experience as a technical lead for small teams of PCB design engineers.Experience developing IPC class 2 and 3 boards.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.Ability to participate in schematic and design reviews.Proficiency in Hyperlinx for high-speed electronic design analysis.Experience with Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM).Work Environment
This role offers the flexibility to work remotely. Ideal candidates may be required to work in Seattle, Troy, Michigan, or the Ft. Worth/Dallas area in the future. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, providing an opportunity to impact global connectivity by contributing directly to satellite constellations.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
