Payroll Tax Specialist

The Payroll Specialist of Tax oversees and assists with balancing, daily audit, daily review and distribution of mail receive into the Burlington office and email correspondence, scanning and providing mail to team members and uploading documents to ADP Smart Compliance portal, respond to HR Central tickets and assign to Snr Payroll Specialist members based on their assigned jurisdictions, process A/P payments for non-ADP tax filings, pulling tax records and reports and saving to SharePoint site, pulling records for audits. To include special project assignments as assigned by Team lead or Manager.  The incumbent is responsible to ensure adherence to legislation and regulatory compliance as well as Labcorp Global Standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Workday end to end payroll processing experienceTest execution experience, familiarity and ability to navigate throughout WorkdayData entry skill within WorkdayADP SmartCompliance knowledgeUpload tax documents onto SmartCompliance portal (such as agency notifications, POA paperwork, etc)Research out of balancesWorkday reporting familiarity, payroll controls/validationsBalancing weekly, quarterly and annual tax jurisdiction, processing’s and filingsDaily, weekly auditing of tax electionsBalancing W-2'sCreating W-2c'sAnalyze documents to determine action to be taken on daily mailMaintaining logs/recordsResearching inquiriesCompletion of ad hoc projects and tasks, as requiredResponding to HR or employee inquiries on the HR Central portalParticipate in internal and external audits when requestedPerform several advanced excel calculations in order to assist with required balancing after each weekly/biweekly payroll processing to ensure taxation is set up correctly within Workday

Requirements:

3+ years of payroll experienceExcellent Excel skillsAttention to detailSystems experience, preferably Workday and ADP SmartComplianceGood time management and prioritization skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsProven payroll experiencePayroll certification is desirable but not requiredBachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting or equivalent education preferred but not required.
