Robert Half is partnering with a client to find a sharp and experienced Payroll Supervisor to help oversee payroll operations. Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage and supervise daily payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee wages.
+ Oversee payroll for salaried, hourly, part-time, and contract staff across multiple states or locations, as applicable.
+ Verify and reconcile payroll data, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax compliance.
+ Ensure proper handling of garnishments, wage assignments, PTO accruals, and employee benefits contributions.
+ Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including filings and record-keeping requirements.
+ Act as a primary liaison between human resources, finance, and external vendors for payroll-related concerns.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies, providing excellent internal customer service.
+ Train and mentor payroll staff to ensure process consistency and foster development among team members.
+ Evaluate payroll systems, recommending process improvements or software upgrades to enhance efficiency.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 5+ years of progressive payroll experience; prior supervisory or management experience required.
+ Advanced knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Kronos, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
+ Solid understanding of payroll laws and regulations, including tax codes and workers’ compensation.
+ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
+ Proven interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across departments and resolve payroll-related issues.
+ Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential is preferred but not required.
