Payroll Specialist/Analyst
Description Position: Payroll Specialist / Analyst (Contract) Start Date: ASAP Duration: ~3 months (with possible extension) Location: 100% Remote Working Hours: Pacific Standard Time (PST). Work Authorization: Must have a dedicated home office for occasional remote work. Why This Role is Open A Bay Area California based payroll team is currently focused on an ADP implementation (migrating from UKG) and needs interim support to manage daily operations and employee inquiries during this transition period. Key Responsibilities + Must have direct Payroll Experience 5+ years + Function as the first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, especially termination checks, pay discrepancies, and garnishments! + Direct inquiries appropriately and ensure timely follow-up with employees. + Provide support for payroll system testing and ADP implementation, including auditing timecards. + Interface with union representatives and internal departments to resolve payroll issues. + Provide light project and admin support as needed; may assist with payroll processing if experienced. + Must work California hours (PST) Requirements Ideal Background + Previous payroll experience in a fast-paced, high-volume or unionized environment + Familiar with garnishments and multi-cycle payrolls + Strong Technical skills – Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) + Experience with ADP WFN, Workday payroll is a must. + Systems Implementation a plus + Tech-savvy with tools like Slack and cloud-based payroll systems Key Attributes for Success + Initiative-taking, resourceful, and able to direct yourself with minimal supervision. + Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-interruption environment + Strong communicator across IM, phone, and email + Positive, solutions-oriented mindset + Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities during system transitions.
