Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires expertise in payroll systems and compliance, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The position operates remotely but requires working hours aligned with the Central or Pacific time zones. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll administration and attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations. Responsibilities: • Process employee payroll setup within Workday, ensuring accurate and timely data entry. • Manage tax filings, deposits, notices, and rate updates using payroll compliance software. • Handle W-2 reissue requests for all applicable years and distribute them as needed. • Respond to and resolve basic inquiries from the People Desk, assigning complex matters to the appropriate teams. • Establish and maintain online accounts for active payroll accounts, updating or closing them as necessary. • Monitor and manage the tax inbox, ensuring all correspondence is addressed promptly. • Assist with audits related to payroll setup, verifying employee-level details for accuracy in Workday. • Upload tax notices to the compliance system for team review and processing. • Update rate sheets with accurate information from agencies and ensure proper system updates. • Support other payroll-related tasks and projects as required. Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration or a related field. • Proficiency in payroll software such as Workday, ADP Workforce Now, or Ceridian Dayforce. • Strong knowledge of tax compliance and payroll processes. • Experience with accounting software systems and benefit functions, including 401(k) administration. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a remote work environment. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. • Availability to work Central or Pacific time zone hours.
